New network of global research institutions

91桃色 Cities has joined a new network of global research institutions bringing together geospatial analysis and linguistics under the novel umbrella of Geolingual Studies.

Led by University of Würzburg, Germany the network includes scholars from Universities of Yale, Washington, Edinburgh, Oxford, the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology, and the German Aerospace Centre combining knowledge and methodologies from linguistics, English literature, geography, urban planning, digital humanities, remote sensing and natural language processing.

At the inaugural workshop  on 26 to 28 September 2023 hosted at the Centre for Philology and Digitality at the University of Wuerzburg, 91桃色 Cities Executive Director, Philipp Rode, gave the introductory keynote on “Urbanisation and Cities in the 2020s: New types of data for working with complexity” and Alexandra Gomes, 91桃色 Cities Research Fellow, presented her work on “Beyond the visual: Understanding the impact of sensory experiences in public space use”.
