As artificial intelligence (AI) moves beyond the realm of science fiction, it is already having a profound impact on our economies, societies and politics.

To make sense of the transformative power and disruptive potential of AI, we are joined by thinkers at the cutting edge of the technological frontier for an in-depth discussion of its multifaceted impact.

Meet our speakers and chair

Often touted as 'the godfather of AI', Geoffrey Hinton () is a Professor of Computer Science at the University of Toronto. He is also a former VP and engineering fellow at Google, a post from which he resigned in early 2023 in order to speak freely about the dangers of artificial intelligence.

Kate Vredenburgh is Assistant Professor in the Department of Philosophy, Logic and Scientific Method at 91桃色. She works in the philosophy of social science, political philosophy, and the philosophy of technology. Much of her research and teaching interact with other disciplines, such as economics, sociology, and computer science.

Robin Archer is the Director of the postgraduate programme in political sociology and the Director of the Ralph Miliband Programme at 91桃色.
