Department Opportunities
Student Academic Representatives play a vital role in shaping the student experience within the Department and across 91桃色. They act as a bridge between the student body and staff, ensuring that your views, ideas, and concerns are heard and acted upon.
Reps help to improve both the academic and wider student experience by:
- Representing their peers at key departmental meetings, such as Programme Forums and Teaching Committee meetings.
- Raising feedback on the quality of teaching, assessment, learning resources, and student support, as well as sharing what’s working well.
- Collaborating with staff to discuss and agree on potential improvements and helping the Department respond more effectively to student needs.
- Contributing to School-wide discussions about education, equity, and student wellbeing through their connection to the 91桃色 Students’ Union.
Being a Rep is a fantastic opportunity to:
- Develop skills in communication, negotiation, and leadership.
- Gain insight into how academic programmes are managed and improved.
- Make a meaningful contribution to your academic community.
Each cohort elects its own Reps at the start of the academic year. The Department and the 91桃色 Students’ Union provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you succeed in the role.
You can find out more about what the role involves here and on the 91桃色SU website .
Please note: Keep an eye on your 91桃色 email and the newsletter during Welcome Week for details on how to nominate yourself and take part in the Student Rep elections.
